Adverse is a 2020 American crime thriller about a ride-share driver that discovers that his sister is in debt to a dangerous crime syndicate.

Written and directed by South Korean-born Brian A. Metcalf (Living Among Us; The Lost Tree). Produced by: Brian A. Metcalf, Thomas Nicholas and Kelly Arjen. The movie stars Thomas Ian Nicholas, Mickey Rourke, Sean Astin, Lou Diamond Phillips and Kelly Arjen.

Plot:

Ethan (Thomas Ian Nicholas), a ride-share driver discovers his sister is in debt to a dangerous crime syndicate. He ends up in over his head trying to free her…

Release:

Adverse premiered at the Fantasporto Festival on February 28th 2020. Lionsgate will release Adverse on VOD on March 9th, 2021.

Adverse is a slow-burning drama for the most part before it explodes in the third act. It’s just enough to sink your teeth into even if the final conclusion of the movie leaves more questions than answers, especially when it comes to the consequences of the aftermath we’ve just witnessed.” Back to the Movies
