GINGERDEAD MAN 2: PASSION OF THE CRUST (2008) Reviews and overview

‘Bad yeast shall rise again!’

Gingerdead Man 2: Passion of the Crust is a 2008 American comedy horror film with the deranged cookie murderer stalking a low-budget film production.

Directed by Silvia St. Croix from a screenplay co-written with Muffy Bolding and Aaron Strongoni. The Full Moon Features-Transition Entertainment-Wizard Entertainment production stars K-von Moezzi, Kelsey Sanders, Joseph Porter and Frank Nicotero.

Reviews:

“Mostly just a lot of people on a movie set bitching up a storm at or about each other – not all that funny and some of the jokes seemed too inside baseball. Take a lot of nerve for a guy like Charles Band to produce a movie that features jokes about a producer not paying crew members given his own reported rep in that department.” Dread Central

Gingerdead Man 2: The Passion of the Crust is as much fun as you could expect from a Full Moon movie. Watching each victim (this time on a movie set) get stalked down and killed by this killer cookie is just laughable yet still enjoyable to the point it just draws you in.” Geek Tyrant

” …the best bits in Gingerdead Man 2 are the ones that don’t feature the titular brutal biscuit at all. The majority of the film has little to do with the tiny killer (no longer played by Gary Busey, who seemingly got his mind back), instead focusing on the story of Cheatum, a film studio losing money as it continues to churn out crap horror sequels.” That Was a Bit Mental

“The humor is a little bit more consistent than the first movie and features a pretty hilarious gag about a terminally ill kid from a Grant-A-Wish style foundation called “Over the Rainbow”. Most of the kills are of the stab, then make a bad pun variety, but there is at least one memorably nutty death scene involving a gay guy getting a red hot curling iron shoved up his @ss.” The Video Vacuum

Choice dialogue:

“Remember. Pain is temporary. Film is forever.”
