‘They tell of ghosts and murders but is it really true?’

Ghost Tale is a 2021 British horror film about an estranged couple who suspect there may be a ghost of a little girl in their house.

Written and directed by Katherine King (shorts: Waste Disposal; Attack of the Zombie Vampires), the Hidden Film production stars Daniel De Bourg, Johanna Stanton (Doom Room; Grave Tales), Edmund Duff and Jane Paul-Gets (Darkness Wakes).

Plot:

Peter (Daniel James De Bourg) and Laura (Johanna Stanton) buy a house to do up as an investment. After many arguments, they split up before they finish it. Decorating the bedroom, Peter’s puzzled to find a photo of a little girl named Emily with a sock puppet. He gets a visit from a strange man, Mr Blake (Edmund Duff) who warns him off. However, Peter is desperate to finish decorating the house, sell it and leave forever.

Much to Peter’s disappointment, Laura turns up to help. She sleeps downstairs but on hearing strange voices, she rushes into Peter’s room and they speculate if the place is haunted. Peter’s fearful – they’ll never sell the house with stories like this. Laura was the estate agent who sold the house across the road, and she insists they are just urban tales. Eventually, they discover who really died in their house and that something malicious is watching them…
