Killer Among Us is a 2021 American thriller about a rookie female cop who has to save the life of a student from a radicalized serial killer. Teaming up with a veteran cop, the pair’s investigation reaches a desperate climax on the 4th of July.
Directed by Charles Scharfman – making his feature directorial debut – from a screenplay co-written with Daniel Lichtenberg, the Hard Night production stars Yasha Jackson (The Flight Attendant), Andrew Richardson (Martin Eden), Bruce MacVittie (When They See Us) and Imani Lewis (The Forty-Year-Old Version).
Director Charles Scharfman has said: “I made this film as a crime genre-rooted reflection of the polarized and complicated political climate we are currently living in, and that’s even more relevant today than when we shot it.”
Release date:
In the USA, Vertical Entertainment will release Killer Among Us theatrically and On-Demand on April 16th 2021.
Review:
“It really is too bad Scharfman set out to make a piece of propaganda theater instead of a thriller, because both Yasha Jackson and Bruce MacVittie are very good as Parks and Corbucci. If they had been allowed to just work the case, Killer Among Us could have been a serviceable serial killer movie. Sadly, the film as it stands is unwatchable.” J.B. Spins
