Reviews:

“Despite being very low-budget, the film moves along easily, providing just enough backstory and explanation for each situation, and avoids overdoing any of the action scenes (a pitfall to which many other vampire films have fallen). Even though there’s a sizable helping of cheesy acting, The Caretakers still has enough quality characters and plot points to keep you entertained.” Critical Movie Critics

The Caretakers offers several sets of characters whose actions interweave unexpectedly, with unanticipated results. A young man protects his vampire girlfriend, helping her find victims. Her father sends a private detective, and his albino sidekick, to find her […] Hudgins is skilled at plot structure, successfully juggling many story elements, all of it neatly coalescing in the end, without any loose strings.” Hollywood Investigator

“This movie will appeal to diehard fans of independent film. At long last, we have an indie filmmaker endeavoring to make a horror film without all the gratuitous nudity, gallons of fake blood and pounds of butcher shop castoffs. He set out to make a movie that depended upon the characters as he created them. Admittedly far from perfect but at least he attempted to bring some character development to the story.” Home Theater Info

“Modest but good indie production that manage to put some fresh and original 🩸 on the vampire subgenre.” Pascal Grenier

” …for all of my criticism towards a film created out of so little means, it was extremely well made given its resources and it is always a pleasure and a fun time watching Big Biting Pig Productions. And truthfully in the arena of low budget horror these days which pump out some truly awful stuff, Hudgins and Woodside are in a class of their own.” Robert Beksinski

” …it doesn’t distinguish between good or bad, right or wrong, but shows all characters as victims of circumstances – even über-vampire Catherine has traces of good in her, everyone just vying for a better life … […] And these broken characters are brought to life rather nicely by a great ensemble cast, and a well-structured script and direction focusing on the characters rather than spectacle make this a very unusual and entirely enjoyable genre film.” Search My Trash
