Production:
Sam Raimi, whose last horror directorial outing was on the Ash vs. Evil Dead series in 2015 (he has been producing movies such as Crawl since) took over the director’s chair for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness from Scott Derrickson in 2020 after the latter cited creative differences.
Filming began in November 2020 in London, England, but was put on hold in January 2021 due to the world health crisis. Production resumed by March 2021 and concluded in mid-April in Somerset. Additional post-production shooting also occurred in Surrey and further reshoots in Los Angeles, according to The Hollywood Reporter
The website said: “Insiders say that Cumberbatch and company are undertaking six weeks of shooting, if not more, working six days a week. Sam Raimi remains as helmer, and Loki head writer Michael Waldron is still on board writing the new material. It is unclear what actors in addition to Cumberbatch are involved.”
