BIGFOOT (2012) Reviews and now free to watch online

Bigfoot is an American monster movie in which two former musicians face off in the hunt for the legendary mountain creature.

Directed by and co-starring Bruce Davison from a screenplay co-written by Brian Brinkman and Micho Rutare.

The Asylum production also stars Danny Bonaduce, Barry Williams, Sherilyn Fenn, Howard Hesseman and Andre Royo. Alice Cooper has a cameo role playing himself.

Plot:
When Bigfoot attacks a 1980s themed rock concert in Deadwood, South Dakota, the cynical event’s organiser Harley Anderson (Danny Bonaduce) tries to kill the giant hairy beast and create a tourist attraction around its stuffed body.

However, his former musical partner Simon Quint (Barry Williams), now an environmentalist, realises the creature is the last of its species and is determined to make sure it does not become extinct Sheriff Alvarez, played by Sherilyn Fenn, and her partner Henderson (Bruce Davison) tries to call off an airstrike after they spot Anderson and Quint on Mount Rushmore trying to trap the creature…

Reviews:

“This was a ton of fun. It was definitely a send-up of 50s and 60s monster flicks, to the point that Bigfoot, though CG, moved like a Harryhausen creation. And I loved that they evoked King Kong and North by Northwest at the end. Bonaduce was great as the heel, and Williams was great as the equally egotistical environmentalist.” Direct to Video Connoisseur

“In this, Bigfoot is so enormous (bigger than a house) that he couldn’t have gone unseen; also, his attacking and eating people is new and why this happens is never explained. This film’s entire purpose was to arouse interest in what these actors would do in a low-rent horror film…” Down Among the “Z” Movies

“This movie has a lot going for it and despite the low-budget creature effects it has a cast that delivers on all levels. In a rare departure from the typical SyFy flick, the actors and actresses actually upstaged the creature.” Forgotten Flix

Bigfoot looks atrocious throughout the movie – not a single shot can be considered passable. The usual problems are all here (he changes size from scene to scene, recycled/repetitive FX shots, etc.) but they actually manage to create a new one – a total lack of blood. People are torn in half, heads are eaten, etc, but there’s just a black void where blood should be. It’s kind of disturbing…” Horror Movie a Day
