Reviews:
“Once the plot is finally in motion, it only has room for a couple of surprises (The movie’s big one isn’t, although the particulars of it are a shock for a lurid reason) but, mostly, more of the routine material that has defined the movie until that point.” 2 out of 4, Mark Reviews Movies

“This is a story that shows how whirlwind romances can get out of control, causing bigger problems. It tries to show how the characters will use books to bring their motivation about what they want in life. The story is set out in chapters which are set up like ‘the next day’ or ‘a few days later’ which gives it a fairy-tale feeling throughout.” Movie Reviews 101

“The cinematography is slick with some nice shots during the library scenes, but this isn’t the kind of movie that has enough style to compensate for its lack of substance. At a running time of 1 hour and 44 minutes, Out of the Blue is overwrought, clunky and vapid while low on thrills, insight and emotional depth.” The NYC Movie Guru

” …really kept alive by solid performances from the entire ensemble more than its storytelling, but once the story reaches boiling point it leaves little to be desired and finds new twists in what seems to be an age-old story, managing to surprise us until the very end. Not a perfect movie maybe, but the third act certainly makes up for any earlier shortcomings.” Search My Trash
