Plane is a 2023 American action thriller film in which a pilot fights militants to protect his passengers.
Directed by Jean-François Richet (The Emperor of Paris; Blood Father; One Wild Moment; Mesrine: Killer Instinct; Mesrine: Public Enemy No. 1; Assault on Precinct 13; All About Love; Inner City) from a screenplay co-written by Charles Cumming and J.P. Davis, based on a story by Charles Cumming.
The movie stars Gerard Butler, Mike Colter, Yoson An, Paul Ben-Victor, Daniella Pineda, Remi Adeleke, Joey Slotnick, Evan Dane Taylor, Claro de los Reyes, Tony Goldwyn, Lilly Krug and Tara Westwood.
Plot synopsis:
Commercial pilot Brodie Torrance (Gerard Butler) makes an emergency landing after a ravaging storm damages the aircraft. The plane lands in hostile territory in the middle of a war, leaving the passengers vulnerable to local militants attempting to take hostages. However, Brodie decides to fight back and protect the passengers until help arrives…

In the US, Lionsgate will release Plane theatrically nationwide on January 27th, 2023.

“Plane as a whole is just mildly average. It has all the functions of your stereotypical action film, and that’s it. Torrance’s family raises his stakes, yet I never felt that he was in danger. Even Gaspare doesn’t have anything to lose, and because of how the film goes, there is minimal risk.
