Reviews:

“I was quite taken with the look of it, with its lush green expanses outdoors and its convincingly old-fashioned, cluttered interiors. I also thought the film was put together and paced in a very coherent way […] The ensemble cast worked well together…” thersites-92454

“There’s just so much love in this movie, and you find yourself so invested in the Park family that when situations lead them down dangerous paths, you fear for their lives because you want so badly for them to survive this zombie outbreak. Zombie for Sale is just as competent as Train to Busan, which is a remarkable thing considering how it is director Lee Min-jae’s first film.” Cultured Vultures

“Sure, in true Korean style some of the comedy is quite broad, but a lot of the fun is found in the interactions of the Park family, whether coping with the undead or each other. They’re a reprehensible bunch […] but as with all such cinematic families, the more time you spend with them the more you get to like them.” Dark Eyes of London

” …it does have some of the weirder element of Asian humor with excessive sound effects. You’ll hear an odd “doink” or “pling” sound when a punchline is showed. This is definitely not my kind of thing, but fortunately it’s not used in any excessive way. Also, the ending of The Odd Family: Zombie on Sale was seriously good in both a funny, fair and heartfelt way!” Heaven of Horror

“What is perhaps the most original element of the film is the way it toys with the idea of the male obsession with virility, marrying it to the zombie genre […] What really makes this film work is its superb cast and perfect comedic timing, and unlike so many Korean movies, the film does not run out of steam towards the end…” View of the Arts

” …The Odd Family is a charmingly surreal ode to family values in which one family’s money-grubbing entrepreneurship almost leads to the end of the world only to paradoxically become its salvation as they prove that there’s nothing so potent as togetherness in combatting existential threat.” Windows on Worlds
