Cannibal Cabin is a 2021 British horror film about a group of young people that mistakenly venture into a remote area inhabited by cannibals. Also known as Cannibal Lake

Produced and directed by Louisa Warren (Legend of the Lizard ManThe Leprechaun’s GameVirtual Death MatchCurse of the Scarecrow) from a screenplay written by Charley McDougall (Crooked Man; Legend of the Lizard Man), the movie stars Richard Summers-Calvert (Dragon Kingdom; Edge of Extinction; Fox Trap; Seven Devils), Reece Putinas, J. Taviner and Matthew Laird.

Plot:
A group of twenty-somethings want to end the summer on a high, so they take advice from a girl they met at a festival about a secret rave deep in the valleys. When their route is detoured they have no choice but to venture into the unknown. Once they come across a derelict aqua park, they soon realise what they thought was their salvation turns out to be the heart of the flesh-eaters lair.

Reviews:
“This movie is essentially one big pile-on of horror movie cliches. Cliched characters, cliched story. It’s yet another “city folk go into a rural area and meet countryfolk who don’t take kindly to the urban behaviors of said city folk and use that as a pretense to slaughter them” horror movie. This movie has an obvious plot twist that viewers will see coming a mile away.” 1 out of 5, Common Sense Media

“It stands as a sobering example of the outcomes when filmmakers prioritise mass production over quality, resulting in bad movies that dilute the potential of the horror genre […] The film needs more developed characters, a more solidified narrative, and some care put into production quality. Despite the thrilling promise the title suggests, the final product leaves much to be desired…” 1 out of 5, Overly Honest Movie Reviews

” …the characters are so poorly developed and interchangeable that it’s hard to tell who is who. It’s easier to think of them as The Stoner, The Couple Who Can’t Stop Making Out, The Pregnant Woman, etc. Even the last half hour, when the cannibals show up is dull and predictable.” 1 out of 5, Voices from the Balcony
