‘One helluva storm’
Monsternado is a 2023 British sci-fi action horror film about a tornado, infested with prehistoric monsters, that formed in the Bermuda Triangle, making its way towards land. Megalodon, pterodactyls, giant octopi, crocodiles, and more fearsome monsters attack! Now, the citizens of an American city – even though it’s filmed in the UK – must fight to survive against these deadly creatures…
Written, produced and directed by Tyler-James (Sky Monster; The Loch Ness Horror; Dinosaur Prison; Crocodile Swarm; Deadly Waters) [allegedly a pseudonym for filmmaking duo Scott Chambers [as Scott Jeffrey] and Rhys Frake-Waterfield]. The soundtrack score was composed by James Cox.

Reviews:
“The acting is quite bad most of the time though. I think they are trying their best but they can’t bring any emotion through the lens at all. The lines are delivered quite okay, but none of it is even remotely believable. The dialog is pretty bad too. There are some funny twists and turns but mostly it’s just stupid in my book.” ★★½ Active Context
“The most significant flaw in Monsternado is balancing the linearity of the film with the desire to have a bunch of different creatures show up in the last 30 or so minutes. Until that point, the film does fairly well, increasing in absurdity while still progressing towards the final mission. But as we near the finale, there are a few too many ‘save me from the creature, phew that was close’ scenarios that all start to blur together.” ★★★½ Horror DNA
“Monsternado’s effects range from acceptable to terrible with most of them on the lower end of the spectrum and the climactic scenes with the octopus being hysterically awful. I hoping it would at least provide a bit of cheesy fun. Sadly it falls short of even that modest goal and ends up being as far below the films it’s mockbusting as The Asylum’s films tend to be below their targets.” ★ Voices from the Balcony
