‘Terror emerges’
The Loch Ness Horror is a 2023 British monster movie about a research group that is sent to find out what happened to a missing sub. Unfortunately, the group discovers the horror that awaits them lurking below the water.
Written and directed by Tyler-James (Sky Monster; Dinosaur Prison; Crocodile Swarm; Monsternado; Deadly Waters).
The movie stars Becca Hirani, May Kelly, Matthew Baunsgard, Lila Lasso, Tara MacGowran, Beatrice Fletcher, Giedre Jackyte, Mike Kelson, Howard J Davey, Rob Kirtley and Dan Gittens.
Plot:
A submarine vanishes which prompts a rescue operation that comes face to face with the cause – The Loch Ness Monster. Having escaped the Loch, the beast is now unleashing decades of pent-up aggression on all those it encounters. In a fight for survival, our team of rescue operatives must overcome the terrors both beneath them and within their ranks…

And as a seabound thriller it functions pretty well (although characters remain undeveloped). “I always thought The Asylum had a lock on “mockbusters” and/or poorly acted, bad films, but look out – Uncork’d Entertainment apparently said “Hold my beer” and decided to give them a run for their money. Free advice: If you’re going to make a giant monster movie, give it more than a few total minutes of screen time. ” …keeping the entire movie in a submarine often made it feel more like a spy narrative than monster mayhem. You can start to forget that Nessie is out there hunting them until she shows herself. It’s not that they’re terrible – after all, it is very clearly a B movie – but more that it’s all so ludicrous that it’s hard to imagine them not breaking out in giggles from some of the most banal lines and daft scenes.
