Reviews:
“I was excited to see Melissa Moore show up as a psychic painter and man, how about that image of Doktor Death inside a body, using tendons to make someone walk around? More hour long better quality Pupper Master movies! This was a blast.” B&S About Movies

“Doktor Death, with its sinister aesthetic, unique skillset, and shrewd demeanor, is destined to become a fan favorite. This is a film that horror fans shouldn’t miss.” Horror Facts

“Out of Doktor Death’s personal eight kill body count, only one is visually graphic within the scene.  I would say two but the character is later found not dead but just severely injured and we’re left unresolved with their life status.  The other deaths are done offscreen and are implied […] The short runtime falls in sync with the nowadays Full Moon line of quick, cheap, and dirty modern movies, but what it also does is provide quick pacing…” It’s Bloggin Evil!

“More could have been done with these people and this scenario. But as it is, it’s a decent little slasher that provides a quick dose of entertainment and leaves plenty of story left over to be told in a sequel. Despite the fact that there’s not much to it, I did enjoy it more than some of the previous Puppet Master movies.” 7 out of 10, JoBlo

“Whilst I enjoyed my time with Puppet Master: Doktor Death I really did wish the film would’ve had a little more meat on its bones. The film runs a mere 59 minutes, which keeps things moving at a swift pace but didn’t leave much time for world-building or deep characterisation – two things that, I think, could’ve pushed this particular franchise entry to the next level…” ★★★★½ Nerdly

“The acting performances in the movie were actually fair enough, especially in comparison as to what was performed in the Axis trilogy of the Puppet Master franchise. Visually Puppet Master: Doktor Death was quite okay. Nothing outstanding for a horror movie, sure. But the special effects served the movie well enough […] There simply weren’t enough murderous dolls in the movie.” 4 out of 10, Paul Haakonsen

“There isn’t much of a plot to speak of, as this only runs 59 minutes and doesn’t spend that time building credible arcs. The frequent horror is somewhat effective, though the outcome is slightly frustrating in that this abruptly ends without rectifying anything.” 2 out of 4, Splatter Critic

“We’ve known better sequels but it’s good enough. The special effects aren’t too shabby. There’s an admirable attempt at recreating the original vibe, score included, and it takes us back. While the classic puppets are absent, they live through Doktor Death who fits in perfectly.” 2.5 out of 4, Tales of Terror

“Even with the scant running time, there’s still a lot of padding. (In addition to flashbacks from previous installments, we also have flashbacks to scenes that happened five minutes ago.) Some of the death scenes are gory, but not enough to be memorable. It also loses points for introducing a potentially interesting psychic character played by former Scream Queen Melissa Moore, and then doing absolutely nothing with her.” ★½ The Video Vacuum
