Reviews:
Cult Killer is predictable and more than a little preposterous, but it leans into those qualities and becomes something close to a cartoon […] Cult Killer is trash, but it knows it’s trash, and that self-knowledge lets the audience into the story. The filmmakers and the audience are here for the same thing and that’s to watch a woman work her way through contrived clues to catch a serial killer.” ★★½ Loud and Clear

“There’s something here; squint and one can see an efficient B-movie. In its current presentation, it’s hard to find in this package. Banderas gets a short stick with his character, his natural charisma not enough to overcome stock characterization. Eve isn’t terrible, but possibly a bit miscast in the role, not quite putting out the analytical and purposeful vibes her Cassie needs.” Grade: D, Movie Man Jackson

“The performances in Cult Killer mix highs and lows. Antonio Banderas brings a magnetic presence to every scene, while Alice Eve’s portrayal of Cassie reveals her considerable range as an actress. On the other hand, the antagonist’s character needed a more robust dialogue and a better backstory. With a runtime of just 105 minutes, Cult Killer keeps the audience engaged but could have benefited from a longer duration to develop its storylines fully.” ★★★½ Overly Honest Movie Reviews

” …when Cult Killer is in motion it has the pieces to lure you in. Unfortunately, when the most important emotional beats of the plot fail to land with the intended impact, it softens the overall punch you need to be a successful psychological thriller.” Grade: C, Silver Screen Analysis
