PLANETQUAKE Review of The Asylum’s latest disaster movie plus trailer

‘The Earth will never be the same’
Planetquake is a 2024 disaster movie in which a major tectonic shift causes a series of ever-escalating earthquakes worldwide. If a team of leading seismologists fails to stop the disaster, the events will break apart the Earth, resulting in billions of casualties…

Written and directed by Monroe Robertson, making his feature directorial debut.

The Asylum production stars Michael Paré, Erica Duke (Bullet Train Down; Devil’s Triangle; Aquarium of the Dead), Anthony Jensen, Candace Kita, Doug Jeffery, Angelo Kern, Chevonne Wilson, Zackary Simonini, Brad Staggs, Marlee Carpenter and Erin Gall.

Reviews:
“To Robertson’s credit, the dialogue is a bit better than usual for one of these films, but that doesn’t change the fact that there’s way too much of it […] And, adding insult to injury, the few effects we do get are weak. There’s a horrible shot of a plane making a hard landing, and the tsunami scenes end as the waves reach shore, so we don’t see any destruction.” ★½ Voices from the Balcony
