“Based on a true story, The Man in the White Van plunges into the unsettling shadows of a seemingly peaceful 1974 Florida community. The film chronicles the unsettling experiences of young Annie Williams, a vivacious girl whose life takes a dark turn when she finds herself pursued by a menacing man in a white van.

Annie’s tranquil life, filled with her passion for horseback riding and relaxed walks home through the adjacent forest, starts to unravel as the ominous white van comes increasingly close. With her parents doubting the gravity of the situation, Annie becomes emotionally isolated. On Halloween night, her darkest fears come to life when she is kidnapped.

Marking the directorial debut of Warren Skeels, The Man in the White Van serves as a compelling study of fear, mistrust, and the vulnerability that exists when a hidden evil infiltrates a secure environment. Inspired by the real-life crimes of serial killer Billy Mansfield Jr., the film paints an unnerving portrait of a young girl’s unthinkable terror and the nightmares every parent dreads.”

Reviews:
“It’s never less than watchable although I was struggling to see the point of the whole thing. Skeels’s movie has been in gestation since 2021 and various plot wrinkles suggest that this may not have been a straightforward production; but really in 2023 I’m not sure we need another ‘killer-stalks-young-girls’ movie which doesn’t really add any depth or context to the events on screen.” Bloody Flicks
“The Man in the White Van is a tension-filled, white-knuckle thriller oozing with an ominous air of dread. A standout performance by Madison Wolfe gives us a protagonist who is immediately likable and as realistic as a character could be. The late 1970s setting is perfectly captured and enhanced by a great selection of music that really pulls everything together.” The Good, the Bad and the Verdict
“Building towards an effective climax, Skeels pulls out every tool in the toolbox. I was thrilled that the chase sequence, an underrated horror genre staple, goes on for quite some time. The entire final act of the film chugs along at a breakneck speed perfectly choreographed for maximum tension.” ★★★★ Josh at the Movies
” …the ensemble cast in The Man in the White Van all complete the perfectly set aesthetic of whispered dangers in the 70s and 80s […] Cinematographer Gareth Paul Cox weaves his magic through immersive visuals that add depth and intrigue to the narrative. Overall, The Man in the White Van is a solid and entertaining thriller movie…” Mother of Movies
“The Man in the White Van does a great job of offering a gateway horror film to audiences that might be too squeamish to take on the more gruesome and sadistic elements of the horror genre. Most importantly, the film exposes everyone, including grizzled horror podcasters, to a relatively unknown serial killer.” ★★★ The Scariest Things
