Juminten Edan is a 2026 horror-thriller about a woman with a speech disability who returns to the remote island where she grew up after spending eight years away. The story explores trauma, stigma, family relationships, and questions of sanity while gradually building a supernatural and psychological mystery. The film blends psychological horror, family drama, and social commentary. The title translates as “Crazy Juminten”
Unlike many Indonesian horror films that focus primarily on ghosts or folklore, Juminten Edan centres on a disabled female protagonist and combines horror with themes of:
Family trauma
Mental health and perceptions of madness
Social stigma toward disability
Emotional and psychological suffering
The movie was directed by Dedy Mercy and Jonathan Ozoh.

As her actions become increasingly violent and unpredictable, some believe she is suffering from severe psychological trauma linked to a dark event in her past.
