Before Dawn is a 2012 British zombie horror feature film directed by and starring Dominic Brunt (director of Evie; Attack of the Adult Babies; actor in Inbred). The movie also stars Joanne Mitchell and Eileen O’Brien. Several actors including Brunt appear in the British TV soap opera series Emmerdale.

An estranged couple’s rural vacation to save their troubled relationship goes awry when they find themselves under attack from the walking dead…

Before Dawn is far from perfect, and I’m still not convinced that the world needs yet another zombie film. However, there are interesting ideas here that lift it out of the glut of SOV gut munchers, and you suspect that with a bigger budget, better photography and a more original central idea, Brunt – clearly a fan of the genre – could make something genuinely impressive.

“Despite its tiny budget, it’s a stunningly confident and assured piece of work characterised by a smart and economic script, compelling and naturalistic performances from the two leads and bold, stylish, edgy direction.” Starburst

“Before Dawn is a delight. An original, beautiful, heart-breaking British zombie movie that pulls no punches and evokes a realism and tension that belies its low budget and humble origins.” Blogomatic 3000

Before Dawn had a limited UK theatrical release from February 22nd 2013.
