‘Who wants to play?’

Devil’s Junction: Handy Dandy’s Revenge is a 2019 American horror feature film about an old TV studio haunted by an insane magician/ventriloquist.

Directed by Jeff Broadstreet [as Roy G. Biv] (Night of the Living Dead 3D: Re-Animation; Night of the Living Dead 3D; Area 51: The Alien Interview) from a screenplay written by J.S. Brinkley, based on a storyline by Donald Borza II, the movie stars Bill Moseley, Bill Oberst Jr., Jake Red and Kyle Anderson.

Plot:

Returning to the abandoned Detroit television station where they once delighted a generation of children viewers, master puppeteer Mr Jolly (Bill Oberst Jr.) re-incarnates his minion puppets for a final performance to settle an old score with Richard (Bill Moseley).

The rare blood moon casts an ominous glow as Mr Jolly unleashes his puppets, lead by the infamous Handy Dandy to seek his revenge.

Further complicating Richard’s dilemma is the unexpected arrival to the Studio of his son Steffen and his friends.

The group become entangled in the thrilling pursuit by Mr Jolly and Handy Dandy through the tunnels of the old studio building. They soon realise that they are in a new version of “Mister Jolly and the Handy Dandy Show” – where the pain is the game!

Reviews [click links to read more]:

” …like a pulpy paperback, sometimes you just want the shock and the suspense and it’s here to see.
And quickly too. Even the filmmakers seem to feel that only so much exposition is necessary. We get the bare facts and then the majority of the movie is thrills, chills, and spills.” Sci Fi Movie Page

Devil’s Junction: Handy Dandy’s Revenge does have a few effective scares and some cringe-inducing moments. Chief among those are the dolls apparently trying to re-enact their favourite scenes from Hostel on one of their victims […] But there’s way too much of the kids stumbling around in the dark. And more than enough goofy sounding mystic dialogue between Oberst and Moseley. Add in a last-minute twist that’s more silly than sinister and there you have it.” Voices from the Balcony [recommended site]
