Bloodshot is a 2020 American science fiction action film about a man who is brought back from the dead as a lethal weapon using nanotechnology.

Directed by visual effects expert Dave Wilson from a screenplay written by Eric Heisserer (Bird Box; Lights Out; Final Destination 5; et al) and Jeff Wadlow (Fantasy Island; Truth or Dare; Kick-Ass 2), based on the Valiant comic book,

The movie stars Vin Diesel (The Last Witch Hunter; Riddick; Pitch Black), Eiza González, Guy Pearce (Prometheus; Ravenous), Toby Kebbell (Kong: Skull Island; Fantastic Four), Talulah Riley and Alex Hernandez.

Plot:

Vin Diesel stars as Ray Garrison, a soldier recently killed in action and brought back to life as the superhero Bloodshot by the RST corporation. With an army of nanotechnology in his veins, he’s an unstoppable force –stronger than ever and able to heal instantly. However, in controlling his body, the company has sway over his mind and memories, too. Now, Ray doesn’t know what’s real and what’s not – so he’s on a mission to find out…

Bloodshot was created for Valiant Comics by Kevin Van Hook, Don Perlin and Bob Layton in 1992, and ran for 110 issues with more than 7.5 million copies sold.

Reviews:

“Ray’s transition from soldier to superpowered killer holds no surprises, and the nanites mean the severe damage his body takes in the many battles is rendered bloodless. There’s enough entertainment offered to those looking for mild popcorn fun, but beyond that, it adheres far too closely to the average origin blueprint.” Bloody Disgusting

Release:

Bloodshot was released by Sony on March 13th 2020.
