Scarecrow’s Revenge is a 2019 British horror film about a female Viking warrior leading a battle against a demonic scarecrow.

Directed by Louisa Warren (Vikings vs. Krampus; Tooth Fairy and sequel; Curse of the Scarecrow; et al) from a screenplay written by Tom Jolliffe (Cyber Bride), the ChampDog Films production stars Peter Cosgrove, Louisa Warren, Kelly Juvilee and Richard D. Myers.

Scarecrow’s Revenge was produced by first assistant director Scott Jeffrey (Clown Doll; The Final Scream; The Bad Nun; writer of The House on Elm Lake; Unhinged; Fox Trap) and Louisa Warren.

Plot:

Summer, 802 A.D., North England: A band of Viking warriors banish Henrik from their village after his attempts to defile one of their daughters. Overcome with rage and vengeful lust, Henrik goes to the Witch of the Lake, where no man has ever returned alive.

In exchange for his earthly body and mortal soul, Henrik is given 48 hours in a new and seemingly indestructible, vessel, that of a cursed scarecrow.

Henrik sets out to destroy the warriors and the entire Viking village, whilst the witch waits with the promise of fresh souls to consume.

As the Warriors fall to the unstoppable scarecrow, the Chief’s daughter, Greta, defies her father’s wishes and sets out to fight. She suddenly finds the fate of the village in her hands and discovers hidden truths about her lineage that will define her future and the fate of those villagers. Only by embracing a part of herself she never realised existed, can she stop Henrik, but that comes at a price…

Reviews:

” …at over 90 minutes the film did stretch the patience a bit. Milner Evans’s over the top performance as the witch is quite something to see, with her free dance moves and on occasion psychedelic face, and Cosgrove’s gurning Hendrick is quite lively. The rest of the cast are serviceable but a little bland…” Dark Eyes of London

” …a dull slasher film. The kind where we’re told how awful the carnage is but never see it […] Scarecrow’s Revenge is an utter disaster. There is nothing to even momentarily redeem it, no gore, no skin and it’s not even good to laugh at. This is about as bad as it gets.” Voices from the Balcony
