‘You live with them, you feed them, you fear them.’

Creeping Crawling is a 2012 American horror anthology feature film centred around things that scuttle and slither in the night.

Directed by Jon Russell Cring and Tracy Nichole Cring from a screenplay co-written with Joshua Owens, the Cinema Rebellion production stars Anna Shields, Sarah Von Ouhl, Chuck Girard, Yury Tsykun, Raine Brown, Laura LaFrate and Kevin Craig West.

Plot:

Doug and Allison have a paper due and they’re hoping an eccentric entomologist will be the lynchpin to a passing grade. They get more than they bargained for when Doctor Tarkovsky (Yury Tsykun) tells them the story of ‘Grubbery’ and the lengths supermodel Denver will go to in order to keep her figure. Denver’s best friend Ginger introduces her to age-old dieting wisdom as her boyfriend Rick witnesses her being eaten away by her own vanity.

‘Rid’ introduces Dori, a beautiful young girl who desperately needs money and poses as a nurse hired to take care of a comatose patient. While staying in the Gothic mansion, she begins to unravel as something feasts upon her while she sleeps.

Doctor Tarkovsky’s final cautionary tale centres around Bailey. In ‘Bugger’, the lonely man navigates love online. He can’t seem to find a woman who shares his six-legged obsessions. A co-worker has her doubts about his motives, as a serial killer is at large.

Reviews [click links to read more]:

“Cheaply filmed, it looks rough which also affects the impact of the more ‘gross’ bug scenes but the worst are the night scenes, horrifically done making it a real struggle to see anything that is going on […] That aside the three stories offer some interesting, thought-provoking and outright gross moments […] there is fun to be had.” Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“The sound is tinny, the night scenes barely watchable, the camerawork askew, and storefronts get such prominent positioning in some scenes that I suspect that an attempt at product placement was being made. Writers and directors Jon and Tracy Cring may have been better off investing their time into fleshing out one of the shorts.” HNN

“The camera work and cinematography was on point and of way better quality than I expected. The acting seemed to be pretty good, but it actually got much better as the film progressed. The effects and make-up were also very good, further aiding in making this stand out from other indie flicks of this genre.” Repulsive Reviews

” …Creeping Crawling is a fun little genre movie […] gives new, amusing but also fittingly macabre twists and turns to stories that might sound familiar. And add to that a very competent ensemble cast, a directorial effort that knows when to hold back, when less is more, and a light-footed note to the whole thing, and you’ve got a pretty entertaining piece of genre entertainment…” Search My Trash
