‘Good friends and some time to kill.’

The Stay is a 2020 American thriller film about two couples that rent a secluded house for a weekend getaway and encounter an odd caretaker. Meanwhile, a dangerous secret is set to be revealed.

Directed by Scott Hamm from a screenplay co-written with Kipp Tribble (Evil at the Door; Lobo; Coffin and Coffin 2) based on Hamm’s storyline.

The MRP Entertainment-Toni Nycole Productions movie stars Rob Mayes (The House on the Hill; Deep Blue Sea 2; John Dies at the End), Michele Martin (The Reservation: Geronimo’s Curse; Howl; Coffin 2), Scott Hamm (Confined; Howl; Evil at the Door), Nija Okoro (Confined; Howl) and aforementioned Kipp Tribble (Evil at the Door; Char Man; Coffin and Coffin 2). Produced by Scott Hamm, Charles Huddleston and Kipp Tribble.

“Will you know what’s coming? Probably, but you won’t care; you’ll still want to “see” it all unfold. “The Stay” is a well-written, well-directed, and well-acted independent film that won’t change the world, but will keep you entertained for ninety minutes.” IndyRed

“It’s too bad the script was so weak because the technical elements are solid and the acting is good. The cast makes the best of what they have to work with, and there are several nice shots of what was a beautiful location. But there’s really no saving The Stay from its story. But at least it is better than The Rental.” Voices from the Balcony
