‘Everything is bigger in Texas’
Bull Shark is a 2022 American action horror film about a shark feeding on unsuspecting lakegoers in a small Texas town. Also known as Blood in the Water
Written and directed by Brett Bentman (Honor Among Thieves; Meteor 2021; The Rodeo Thief; Copper Bill; The Night Before; Apocalypse Road). Produced by Tiffany McDonald.
The B22 Films production stars Thom Hallum (The Follower; Honor Among Thieves; Outlaw’s Buckle; Copper Bill; Bigfoot Wars), Billy Blair, Lindsey Marie Wilson, Derrick Redford, Colleen Elizabeth Miller and Colin Heintz.
In 2024, Bull Shark 2 and Bull Shark 3 arrived having presumably been filmed back-to-back.
Our review:
The shark elements are minimal and the attacks are feeble. Why make a supposed shark movie with clichéd Jaws plot elements and then turn it into a drama about alcoholism, a broken family and some petty corruption? It’s an ok watch but kind of meh. And there’s a final scene that pointlessly goes on for seemingly forever before its inevitable conclusion.
Other reviews:
“Bull Shark is not only a hilarious takedown of political corruption but also a surprisingly refreshing rumination on family and fatherhood. Featuring a complex central performance, pristine visuals, and laugh out loud antics, this is a film in which it is instantly apparent that not only are cast and crew having fun with the material, but it is also clear they share a passion for the medium.” The Movie Sleuth
