Masters of the Universe is a forthcoming live-action sword-and-sorcery fantasy film about a hero’s battle with evil Skeletor.
The Mattel Films production will star Kyle Allen (West Side Story) as He-Man.
The movie will be directed by the Nee Brothers (The Lost City) from a screenplay co-written with David Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings). Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch will produce, alongside DeVon Franklin. Robbie Brenner and Kevin McKeon will oversee the project for Mattel Films.
The Masters of the Universe lore focused on an orphan named Adam, who discovers he is a prince destined to be the saviour of a far-away land and must quickly learn how to use his power to save his home from evil Skeletor.
Filming will begin in the summer of 2022.
