Teen Wolf: The Movie is a 2022 American comedy horror film focused around an alpha werewolf named Scott McCall. The movie is based on the 2011 supernatural series Teen Wolf, which is, in turn, based on the 1985 film of the same name.

The new movie is a direct continuation of the TV show which ran for six seasons and ended in 2017. It will also act as a setup for the new series Wolf Pack, based on the books by Edo van Belkom.

Directed by veteran Russell Mulcahy (Resident Evil: Extinction; Highlander; Razorback) from a screenplay written by Jeff Davis.

The movie stars Tyler Posey (Alone; Truth or Dare; Yoga Hosers; Scary Movie V), Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig, Linden Ashby, JR Bourne, Colton Haynes, Melissa Ponzio, Crystal Reed, Ian Bohen, Dylan Sprayberry, JR Bourne, Orny Adams, Ryan Kelley, Seth Gilliam, Melissa Ponzio, Linden Ashby, Vince Mattis, Amy L. Workman and Nobi Nakanishi.

Plot synopsis:
A full moon rises in Beacon Hills, and with it, a terrifying evil has emerged. The wolves are howling once again, calling for the return of banshees, werecoyotes, hellhounds, kitsunes, and every other shapeshifter in the night.

But only a werewolf like Scott McCall, no longer a teenager yet still an alpha, can gather both new allies and reunite trusted friends to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they’ve ever faced…

Reviews:

“It goes without saying that Teen Wolf haters or the unfamiliar need not apply. Penned by series creator Jeff Davis himself, Teen Wolf: The Movie is overflowing with callbacks to the series and remains steadfastly faithful to established mythology. If this isn’t enough to make one nostalgic from those 2010s MTV-channel vibes, the returning cast is here to make sure Teen Wolf fans get what they came for.” 4 out of 5, Josh at the Movies

” …Teen Wolf: The Movie is really only for fans of the original show. There is too much history — both in terms of the characters and the mythology — for newcomers to truly appreciate the events of the film. But it’s unlikely to fully satisfy even the diehard fans either, even if there’s some wicked enjoyment to be had seeing the Teen Wolf characters finally get to swear.” Screen Rant
