Above & Below is a 2026 action-thriller film about a group of friends on a diving trip menaced by criminals and sharks.

The movie was directed by Jesse V. Johnson from a screenplay by Anthony Steven Giordano.

The production stars Antonio Banderas, Laura Marano, Christina Ochoa and Timothy V. Murphy.

Plot [spoiler-light]:
Tatiana (Laura Marano) and her friends set off on a diving expedition off the Mexican coast. What begins as an idyllic getaway quickly descends into chaos when heavily armed criminals attack their boat. During the confrontation, the group is forced underwater, where they become stranded with limited oxygen and few options for escape.

As the attackers wait above to eliminate any survivors, the divers must navigate dangerous underwater terrain while avoiding increasingly aggressive sharks. With supplies dwindling and panic setting in, Tatiana emerges as the group’s leader, using ingenuity and courage to find a way to outwit both the criminals and the predators before time runs out…
