‘In a bowling alley from Hell, there’s only one way to score…’
Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama – also released as The Imp – is a 1987 American supernatural horror comedy feature film directed by David DeCoteau (Creepozoids; Ancient Evil: Scream of the Mummy; Evil Exhumed), from a screenplay by Sergei Hasenecz [a pseudonym for DeCoteau?], loosely based on the classic short story The Monkey’s Paw.
The film also features Robin Stille (The Slumber Party Massacre; Vampire Knights), Andras Jones (A Nightmare on Elm Street 4; The Demolitionist; The Attic Expeditions), Hal Havins (Night of the Demons; Witchtrap) and George ‘Buck’ Flower (Suckula; Drive In Massacre)
A much cheaper sequel-in-name-only, Sorority Babes in the Dance-O-Thon of Death, was directed by Todd Sheets and released straight-to-video in 1992.
On 13 June 2016, the film was released in the UK on Blu-ray by 88 Films.
Two Tri-Delta sorority pledges are constantly being followed and spied on by three nerdy frat boys. The boys are soon caught sneaking into the sorority house by the den mother.
The pledges are then ordered to steal a trophy from a local bowling alley aided by the unwanted boys. An accident during the robbery causes the trophy to break open, releasing an evil imp who wreaks havoc with his supernatural powers. Three of the sorority girls become killers (a dominatrix, a zombie, and a Bride of Frankenstein-like monster)…
Remastered from the original camera negative. Extras include a 2+ hour making-of documentary, commentary with director David DeCoteau, writer Sergei Hasenecz and Scream Queen Brinke Stevens and more.

“Watching it, you feel as though you’re sitting down with friends to replay a silly home movie you made together years ago, and when you wince and groan at all the stupid stuff, that is entirely the desired effect. Hell, if it’s entertaining enough that we can excuse the fact Linnea Quigley doesn’t get naked, what else really needs be said?” Brutal as Hell
“Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-o-Rama may be ridiculous, D-grade tripe, but it also has D-cup nudity, so it all works out.” Digital Retribution
“Short on logic and long on gratuitous nude-ogling, this would-be camp item is scuppered by its thin wit and makeshift acting.” The Aurum Film Encyclopedia: Horror
“DeCoteau had started to hit his exploitation stride here, and Sorority Babes has a noticeable spark and energy to it that his previous directorial attempts singularly lacks… but for a mall-set horror-action flick… there’s little to no narrative drive to keep the viewers mind from wandering on to far more pressing matters.” Empire of the ‘B’s
