‘Billy’s back from the dead with a message from Hell!’
Rocktober Blood is a 1984 American slasher horror feature film written, produced and directed by Fred and Beverly Sebastian (Gator Bait). The movie stars Tray Loren, Donna Scoggins, Cana Cockrell, and features the band Sorcery as actors and on the soundtrack.
On 1 February 2017, the Sebastians made Rocktober Blood available for free to view on YouTube.
“Billy Eye Harper, legendary rock superstar, is dead and buried, but not forgotten. His music lives on. His lover and lead singer has now taken over the band. Now they are out on the road and ready for the ultimate performance! But there is a problem… Billy’s back from the grave and he wants to put a stop to the music the bloody way that Billy knows best!”
Reviews [click links to read more]:
“While lacking the qualities necessary in making what one would consider a good movie, Rocktober Blood is a thoroughly enjoyable entry into the heavy metal horror sub-genre and certainly a must see for anyone who enjoys a little ‘80s cheese.” Chuck Norris Ate My Baby
“Not only is Rocktober Blood a fun little underrated gem, it also features one of the best soundtracks around […] Just for the ending and the soundtrack alone, this one surpasses so many others in this su-genre. Plus there’s naked and half-naked beauties, awesome band scenes, cool deaths and more.” Ronnie Angel, Slashed Dreams: The Ultimate Guide to Slasher Films
“Some of the photography is impressive, especially in the rock concert and lakeside scenes, but technically that’s about all that there is of note. The movie has some of the worst and most laughably amateur actors that I have ever seen […] Another issue is the fact that the story is also quite jumbled, confused and poorly scripted.” A Slash Above…
“For the most part Rocktober Blood is a trashy delight; with touches such as the killer holding his breath under the water in a Jacuzzi to snag a victim, it’s clearly not aiming to be a believable thriller.” J.A. Kerswell, Teenage Wasteland: The Slasher Movie Uncut
“There is a time capsule element here that helps make things somewhat bearable. The music (by Sorcery, the band from Stunt Rock) is really cheesy, and the fashions are pretty funny too. If that doesn’t tickle your ‘80s nostalgia bone, I’m sure you’ll get a kick out of the long aerobicizing scenes.” The Video Vacuum
“A strange film, really quite boring unless you happen to be a fan of ‘metalsploitation’, with a woefully un-frightening killer, too few characters, actors who murmur their lines, and no real sense of cohesion or creativity.” Vegan Voorhees
