The Watchers is a 2024 mystery horror film about a young woman and three strangers who are stalked by creatures in a dark forest.
The movie was written and directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan making her feature directorial debut and based on the novel of the same name by A.M. Shine. Co-produced by her father M. Night Shyamalan alongside Ashwin Rajan and Nimitt Mankad. Executive produced by Jo Homewood and Stephen Dembitzer.
The Blinding Edge Pictures production stars Dakota Fanning, Georgina Campbell (Barbarian), Oliver Finnegan and Olwen Fouere (The Northman).
Plot:
Mina (Dakota Fanning), a twenty-eight-year-old artist becomes stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night…
Release date:
In the US, The Watchers will be released theatrically by New Line Cinema on June 7, 2024. The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures just a little earlier on June 5, 2024.
Meanwhile, M. Night Shyamalan’s next directorial feature will be Trap (he certainly knows how to come up with an intriguing original title, eh?), which will be released in August.
