I EAT YOUR SKIN (2019) Reviews and overview

‘By spear, by machete, by teeth – no skin will be spared.’

I Eat Your Skin is a 2019 American supernatural horror film directed by John Klyza (writer of Cabin 28; Silent Night, Bloody Night 2: Revival; Cheerleader Camp: To the Death) from a screenplay by producer Steg Dorr, who also stars. The New Wave Pictures production also stars Bollywood actress Sunny Leone, Rowena Duarte, Vance Smith, Nicole Ring and Shariba Dandad.

It is apparently a loose remake of the 1964 Del Tenney movie Zombie that was released in 1971 by Jerry Gross as I Eat Your Skin to provide a companion piece to I Drink Your Blood. The 2019 version is said to “starkly divert from the original but with callbacks.”

Plot:

A group of international photographers travel to the Philippines to photograph the Black Shama, a rare bird. They are told the legend of an ancient warlord whose spirit is said to still roam the land. Ignoring the warnings, they travel deep into the jungle and set up camp.

When one of them finds a fresh corpse clutching a strange talisman, he becomes host to the vengeful ghost and begins to prey on his fellow travellers…
