NIGHTMARE ON 34TH STREET (2020) Reviews plus trailer

‘Are you dreaming of a dark Christmas?’
Nightmare on 34th Street is a 2020 British horror anthology film in which a mysterious Santa tells three interconnected stories. Christmas will never be the same way again.

Written and directed by James Crow (Last Village on the Right; Black Creek; House of Salem; Curse of the Witching Tree).

The movie stars Lucy Pinder (Fanged Up; Sharknado 5: Global Swarming), Caroline Boulton (The Basement; Curse of the Witching Tree), Ewen MacIntosh (Shed of the Dead; Killer Weekend; K-Shop; et al) and Dani Thompson (Bite Night; Pandamonium; Cute Little Buggers; et al).

Plot:
All is quiet, all is calm, on Christmas Eve on the street of a sleepy little village, when a mysterious Santa arrives to hand out strange presents.

As a family disappear with ominous notes left about Krampus, little do people know things are about to turn into the darkest Christmas they have ever known, as a series of terrifying events are about to change the festive season forever…

Reviews:
“Individually and overall, 34th Street houses too many characters, too few fresh ideas, no real jolts and, most regrettably, more padding than the average pillow supporting the heads of nestled children as they dream of sugar plums. However, Crow is able to pack a streak of nastiness under his low-budget tree, as kids are not only put in danger, but participate in it. He also stuffs its stocking with dark laughs…” Flick Attack

Nightmare on 34th Street is a fun feast of festival horror tales.” ★★★
Movie Reviews 101

Nightmare on 34th Street spins tales of family deceit, secrets, and parties gone wrong, giving genre fans multiple types of horror to relate to. The most appropriate existing comparison would be A Christmas Horror Story […] as both anthologies do a great job of setting the proper ambiance. This movie has a genuine feel of Christmas, not just settling on being a horror film with the ho-ho-holiday shoehorned in.” Pop Horror

” …a bitter satire on the holidays by way of (sometimes rather visceral) horror. At the same time, the film’s also good fun for all with a dark and twisted sense of humour and a predilection for rather mean-spirited short stories, as there’s plenty of shocks and gore in this one, along with plenty of cruelty – but done in a somewhat light-footed way…” Search My Trash
