Oddity is a horror film about a young woman trying to discover the truth behind her sister’s death with the help of a wooden mannequin.
Written and directed by Damian McCarthy (Caveat).
The Keeper Pictures-Nowhere Films-Shudder co-production stars Gwilym Lee, Carolyn Bracken, Tadhg Murphy, Caroline Menton, Steve Wall, Johnny French and Joe Rooney.
Release:
Oddity premiered at the SXSW festival in February 2024.
The film will be released on Shudder in Summer 2024 on a date to be announced.
Meanwhile, the Motion Picture Association (MPA) has rated Oddity ‘R’ for some splattery imagery and sweary words.
Writer-director Damian McCarthy has commented: “Shudder gave me an opportunity to build on what I learned from my first horror film Caveat. I couldn’t have asked for better collaborators in making something as creepy and strange as Oddity. I’ve been a fan of SXSW for years, watching interviews with filmmakers and taking note of the films that have launched there, so having this premiere there is a huge achievement that I’m very proud of.”
