‘From the depths it rises’
Attack of the Kraken is a 2026 creature feature monster movie about an obsessed captain hunting a giant squid. Blending nautical adventure, monster horror, and survival drama, the film follows a doomed whaling expedition that becomes the prey of the legendary Kraken.
The movie was written and directed by David Gregory (The Deadly Swarm; Mega Lightning; Krampus: The Return; Bloody Mary).
The EMRJ Entertainment production stars Ross Townsend-Green, Paul Marlon, producer Becca Hirani, Mark Cook, Tamaira Hesson, Zach Devereux, Hannah Baxter-Eve, Cain Caingsta-Magee, Jasha Fletcher, Helen Fullerton, Richard Kovacs and Alex Man.
Plot:
Captain Shaw leads The Rocinater, a whaling ship, into remote seas in pursuit of the Kraken, believing the creature can be captured or killed. His reckless obsession pushes the ship far off course and places the crew in grave danger. Soon, the Kraken attacks, devastating the vessel and killing many aboard.
A small group of survivors manages to escape and reach shore near an isolated lighthouse. There they encounter a mysterious lighthouse keeper and his daughter Elizabeth, who possess knowledge about the monster and its history. As the survivors attempt to regroup, old grudges and betrayals within the crew resurface, threatening to destroy them from within.
Having realised that the Kraken will continue hunting them, the group devises a desperate plan to destroy the beast. The final act becomes a brutal struggle for survival as the remaining survivors confront both the monster and their own personal demons in a last stand against the legendary creature…
