HAUNTED HOTEL Asian horror overview

‘You will never check out’
Haunted Hotel is a 2017 Chinese/Malaysian/Thai supernatural horror film directed by Ryon Lee (Seventh; The Transcend). Also known as Haunted Road 2

The movie stars Thai actress Sushar Manaying aka Aom, Chinese actor Leon Li Chuan and Malaysian actor Teddy Chin.

Director Lee revealed that they shot two versions of the movie concurrently. The reason was they needed to present a version for the Chinese mainland market that did not feature ghosts, due to the no-ghost regulation imposed by the fascistic mind-controlling China Film Bureau, which requires totalitarian censorship of “films that promote cults or superstition” or freedom of thought.

Haunted Hotel was released in Malaysian and Chinese cinemas on 19th October 2017.

Filming locations:
Amber Court in Genting Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia
