Puppet Master: Axis Termination is a 2017 horror film about puppets used to infiltrate a secret Third Reich HQ and put an end to the evil experiments being conducted there.
Directed by Charles Band from a screenplay written by Roger Barron (Trophy Heads), based on Band’s storyline.

Set in Los Angeles during World War II, Axis Termination continues the Axis Trilogy, which began with Puppet Master: Axis of Evil and continued with Axis Rising. This is the same period as David DeCoteau’s Puppet Master III: Toulon’s Revenge.
Plot:
Blade, Pinhead, Tunneler, Jester, Six Shooter, and Leech Woman, join forces with a secret team of Allied Operatives, all masters of psychic powers, as they face off together against a new bunch of evil Third Reich adversaries and their collection of vicious Axis Puppets in a showdown that will decide the future of the free world!

“The puppets are a bit more active than in the previous couple of movies […] Band attempts to further combat complaints that the puppets were barely animated in latter entries by shooting actors in puppet costumes against a green screen and then inserting them into the frame. It nearly works in quick shots, but it’s jarring in others. ” …any scene without the puppets is extremely slow-going, which is to say, it’s just like any other Puppet Master movie. The puppets themselves are a bit livelier this time out as they are sometimes portrayed by actors performing in front of a green screen. However, there isn’t nearly enough puppet action in this one to make it worthwhile, and the action we do get is mostly reserved for the last ten minutes of the movie.” The Video Vacuum
