Teman Tidur is a 2023 Indonesian horror film about the aftermath of a young woman’s suicide that leads to video chat terror. The title translates as “Sleeping Friend”.
Directed by Ray Nayoan from a screenplay co-written with Evelyn Afnilia. The movie stars Givina Lukita, Mutiara Sofya and Baskara Mahendra.
Plot:
Amanda is a transfer student, she lives in a dormitory so she can focus on taking part in the Biology Olympiad. There she meets Adam and his gang, new friends who help her with a gang of bullies who have been tormenting her.
The closeness of Amanda and the Adam Gang triggers a cynical reaction from Davin who is an excellent student. Davin is still depressed over the death of his best friend, Kelly, who committed suicide because of an explicit viral video; he suspects the Adam Gang spread the video online. Slowly, Kelly’s spirit comes to haunt them through video chat terror, asking for justice for the mystery of her death…
