Mega Piranha is a 2010 science fiction horror film about a mutant strain of giant ferocious piranha that escape from the Amazon and eat their way toward Florida. The movie is a mockbuster of Piranha 3D.
Co-directed by Eric Forsberg (Monster; Torture Room; Night of the Dead: Leben Tod) and Stuart Gillard from a screenplay co-written by Forsberg, Gillard and Jessica Scott.
The Asylum production stars Tiffany, Paul Logan and Barry Williams.
Plot:
On the Orinoco River in Venezuela, a strain of genetically modified piranha fish has escaped into an isolated tributary of the river.
Through human interference with the local environment, the deadly mutated fish swim downstream, killing all that crosses their path. The mega piranha fish gradually head towards Florida at the height of the tourist season…
