‘He’s every parent’s worst nightmare’
Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare
is a 2025 British fantasy horror film based on the famous children’s story but with a horror twist. It is the third entry in the so-called Poohniverse or Twisted Childhood Universe following Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey and Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2.

Directed and co-produced by Scott Chambers (Medusa’s VenomJack FrostSpider in the AtticThe MutationBatsBad Nun: Deadly VowsCupidClownDoll) from a screenplay written by co-producer Rhys Frake-Waterfield (Pinocchio: Unstrung; Bambi: The Reckoning; Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2; Dinosaur PrisonRise of the Loch NessWinnie-the-Pooh: Blood and HoneySky MonsterFirenado) very loosely based on the characters created by J.M. Barrie. Executive produced by Stuart Alson and Nicole Holland.

The Jagged Edge Productions movie stars Peter DeSouza-Feighoney (The Pope’s Exorcist) as Michael, Megan Placito (RuPaul’s Drag Race) as Wendy Darling, Belinda Fenty as Ness, Kit Green as Tinkerbell and Michelle Miners as Jen.

Shaune Harrison and Paula Anne Booker-Harrison of The Prosthetic Studio will work on the film’s special effects. Their previous projects include Harry Potter’s Lord Voldemort and Mad-Eye Moody, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones and Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow.

Scott Jeffrey asserted: “I am taking inspiration from French cinema while in prep for this movie. The film will be incredibly tense following Wendy as she tries to track down her brother, Michael, who has been abducted by Peter Pan. I would say it’s a mesh between Switchblade Romance and The Black Phone with our own spin on it. It is a nasty, violent and incredibly dark movie,”

Reviews:
“The bold genre shift from J.M. Barrie’s tale is able to capture an effective level of terror that only independent films will be able to produce. With its minimal budget (unfortunately, most independent films will be compared to the legendary effects of the original Terrifier), the film is not as brutal as it wishes to be. Not to say that there aren’t some brutal murders, but they are not as violent or plentiful as you would expect from the Blood and Honey II universe.” Aarcflick

“Given the genuine effort and creativity displayed here, it’s easy to root for Jeffrey to continue exploring twisted takes on classic tales.Though Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare is undeniably dark and far from whimsical, it retains enough fantasy to remind us of its origins. For fans of reimagined fairy tales and brutal horror, this film is a bloody treat.” CineDump

“Wildly, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare atmospherically engineers the film with instances comparable to Danny Boyle’s 1996 Trainspotting and Scott Derrickson’s 2021 The Black Phone. With a villain with levels of temperament and a home base that appears sickly to the touch. This comparison, along with many other homages to familiar horror classics will naturally give you a mixture of déjà vu and a nostalgic smile.” Cinefied

“There’s a real disconnect between what this Peter Pan has to do with the original Peter Pan, except that they both talk about Neverland, a place that is never shown in this horrible movie. There are no references to this movie’s Peter Pan being eternally a boy, when he’s clearly well past the age of puberty. Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare is just a pathetic excuse to use well-known literary character names in order to sell what is essentially a substandard slasher flick that doesn’t do anything that’s very scary or creative.” Culture Mix

“The film’s stunning visuals, interesting character arcs, and psychological depth make for an unsettling but captivating experience that stays with you long after the credits roll. It forces viewers to confront the darkness that often lurks within nostalgia by turning beloved characters into embodiments of dread […] Its audacity and emotional depth will captivate horror fans.” 8/10 Gazettely

” …Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare offers exactly what they’re looking for: relentless carnage, absurd chaos, and a complete lack of apology for its brutality. The ridiculousness of the mayhem is part of its charm, as are the ways it desecrates cherished childhood icons. That said, some viewers may find the themes unsettling, especially given the involvement of children in the narrative. However, the darker elements of Peter Pan are inherent in the original story—they’re just not presented as devastatingly as they are here.” ★★½ Horror Movies Uncut

Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare is a step up in terms of concept and execution that does what most genre fans want when it comes to public-domain horror; give them twisted versions of the fairy tales they know and love. The darker tone and subject matter lend themselves nicely to this interpretation and give us more reasons to be excited about the Poohniverse!” Macabre Daily

“Like the preceding Winnie-the-Pooh films, Neverland Nightmare is a deviously macabre take on the classic childhood story, stomping roughshod all over J.M. Barrie’s work and its Disneyfied counterpart. Its titular killer is more demonic horror clown than Peter Pan proper – think Pennywise meets The Black Phone – but Portlock delivers a chilling performance as the boy who wouldn’t grow up. Themes of child murder and abduction put this in a darker bracket than previous entries…” ★★★ Starbust Magazine

“There are some decent jumpscares in Nightmare. What’s scary about the whole, however, is something more pervasive. However superficial its “psycho” psychologizing, the film does convey the kind of mentally unhinged environ in which hope of survival seems futile. It’s a sufficiently disturbing vision, particularly in waging war against children’s sense of protected status…” Variety
