Reviews:
“Cuba Gooding Jr. and Terrence Howard (also one of the film’s writers) are wasted in this hodgepodge of a horror film. It’s not entirely clear why the role for Gooding, Jr was even necessary in Skeletons in the Closet […] None of it is as creepy or suspenseful as it hopes, not even the guy in the scarecrow costume or the man with the snake.” ★★ Common Sense Media

“You’d expect with all the actors involved that there could be at least some redeeming quality to this. Instead, they spent all their budget paying these names and left everything out for their special effects and makeup […] Don’t even get me started with the writing. Questionable and poor.” ★ Kent Letterboxd

“Character motivations are so muddled it’s difficult to tell what on earth is actually going on at some points, the dialogue is incredibly clunky, and the performances swing wildly from bland to hysteric in a manner that makes no sense. It’s ultimately an incredibly frustrating watch, because there is a decent enough idea at its core…” Loud and Clear

” …the convoluted plotting is just an excuse for some supernatural nonsense, composed of stuff that has been done many times before. Meanwhile, director Asif Akbar provides lazy jump-scares, scenes of alleged suspense that are so over-lit that even the mood isn’t eerie, and visual effects so cheaply rendered that they’re at least worth a few laughs. Skeletons in the Closet is junky from top to bottom…” 1 out of 4, Mark Reviews Movies

“With a main thread that isn’t fully developed and multiple subplots that end up being filler and having no real bearing on the plot, Skeletons in the Closet a train wreck almost from the start. Even by the standards of “we’re only here for the paycheck” films, it’s dismal, and I have to wonder why Shudder thought it was worth picking up.” 1 out of 5, Voices from the Balcony

“The plot is partially a flashback story, which the synopsis explains. There’s just nothing here sadly. The first 25 minutes is Cuba and Terrence drinking at bars talking, usually in 1 take scenes. Overall it’s passable to put on if you’re working or cooking or something, but don’t dedicate your time to watching this.” 4.4 out of 10, Zach Gideon
