‘Time runs out’

Tenet is a 2020 American science-fiction action feature film about one man’s mission to save the world beyond real-time via Inversion.

Written, co-produced and directed by Christopher Nolan (Interstellar; Inception; The Dark Knight trilogy; Memento), the Syncopy production stars John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clémence Poésy, Michael Caine, Kenneth Branagh, Himesh Patel, Martin Donovan and Denzil Smith.

Plot:

Armed with only one word—Tenet—and fighting for the survival of the entire world, the Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real-time. Not time travel. Inversion.

Release:

Warner Bros. was due to release Tenet on July 17th 2020. However, this was delayed until July 31. Now it has been pushed back to August 12, and may still be changed again as Covid-19 infection rates are rising rapidly in many US states that did not lockdown effectively due to a lack of overall policy by the federal government.

A statement has been released:

“Warner Bros. is committed to bringing Tenet to audiences in theaters, on the big screen, when exhibitors are ready and public health officials say it’s time. In this moment what we need to be is flexible, and we are not treating this as a traditional movie release. We are choosing to open the movie mid-week to allow audiences to discover the film in their own time, and we plan to play longer, over an extended play period far beyond the norm, to develop a very different yet successful release strategy.”
