THE AMITYVILLE MOON (2021) Reviews of werewolf horror

‘Evil lurks in the holiest of places’
The Amityville Moon is a 2021 American horror film about a detective hired to find two runaway girls from a boarding home run by the church. After finding and returning one of the girls, the detective discovers the home’s horrifying secret: a werewolf is systematically killing and eating the girls that live there.

Written and directed by Thomas J. Churchill (Amityville Uprising; Big Freaking Rat; The Amityville Harvest; The Step Daddy; Xenophobia; The Day of the Living Dead). Produced by Phillip B. Goldfine and Binh Dang.

The Octane Entertainment production stars Trey McCurley, Alex Rinehart (They’re Inside; Art of the Dead; The Black Room 2017), David B. Meadows (The Manson Brothers Midnight Zombie Massacre; Age of the Living Dead series), Tuesday Knight (Go Away; ShriekShow; The Bloody Man; A Nightmare on Elm Street 4) and Katarina Leigh Waters (Sorority of the Damned; Redcon-1; Sickness).

Reviews:

“An okay (by these standards) cast makes The Amityville Moon marginally better than most DTV Amityville movies […] Whatever small points may fall in this film’s favor are quickly negated by boringly bland camera positions, a clunky screenplay stuffed with objectively unnecessary scenes, and “scares” no one could possibly take seriously.” Culture Crypt

“The narrative sounds ridiculous enough to be fun, with a weird religious theme complete with nuns, tied into a werewolf story, but it all winds up as boring and not well executed […] The languid pace really drags the entire movie down, but that is due in part to the script, which seems to be content with dull exposition and very little in terms of horror, tension, or violence.” Marc Fusion

Release:
The Amityville Moon will be released On-Demand, Digital, Blu-ray and DVD by Lionsgate on October 5, 2021.
