Johnstone also provided the special makeup effects and costumes.
The Jagged Edge Productions movie stars Abi Casson Thompson (The Candy Witch; Cupid), Megan Purvis (The Young Cannibals; Th’dread Rattlin’), Amanda-Jade Tyler (Bad Nun: Deadly Vows; Witches of Amityville Academy) and Stephanie Lodge. Genre regular Shawn C. Phillips has another cameo role.
Reviews [click links to read more]:
“Something I’ve found with Scott Jeffrey is that the films he directs tend to be of a higher quality than the ones where he is only the producer. […] I mean, with Rise of the Mummy, you have a fairly small cast, an off-season high school location and a pre-existing Mummy costume, it looks like something that was quick and easy to put together…” Gav Crimson
” …the Mummy itself looks like a Halloween costume covered in dirty mop heads. It’s laughable rather than scary. The makeup for the victims it possesses is better but nothing special […] Rise of the Mummy is a disaster pretty much from the start. And it’s not the kind that’s so absurd you can get some unintentional fun out of it.” Voices from the Balcony
Rise of the Mummy will be released on April 3rd 2021.
